Book of the Year

A major reading project in Lithuania is the Book of the Year campaign. This campaign is organised together with National radio and TV, National Library and Ministry of Culture. This has been an on-going project since 2005 and has become a traditional event and a highlight in Lithuania’s cultural life. The purpose of the campaign is to promote the interest of Lithuania’s public in modern Lithuanian literature and to give reading a more dignified place in Lithuanian mentality.
